Legal framework

The legislative framework is the set of all existing laws, regulations and rules which directly or indirectly enable and promote the conditions for the civil society development.

Considering that the civil society in the Republic of Serbia is active in all spheres of society, the legal framework for its operation is very wide so that the improvement of the work of civil society requires the continuous improvement of laws, bylaws, regulations, guidelines and other documents.

Therefore, the drafting of the National Strategy for an enabling environment for civil society development in the Republic of Serbia for period 2015-2019 presupposes set of legislative changes.

One of the priorities of the Office for Cooperation with Civil society is to improve the legal framework for the work of civil society. For that purpose, the employees in the Office of members of various work groups for drafting amendment of laws, bylaws and other legal acts of the Republic of Serbia whose implementation directly or indirectly affect or will affect the change of legal conditions ( legal framework) for the work of civil society organizations.

One of the most important achievement of the Office is the initiative towards Serbian Government to adopt the Guidelines for inclusion of civil society organizations in the decision making process. The document was adopted on August 26, 2014
