Priorities in 2015

Every year EACEA determines the annual priorities of the Program in order to further emphasize main theme and ensure higher quality of project proposals from EFC participating countries.

  • Chapter 1 - European remembrance
Throughout this chapter EFC will support projects dedicated to the issues of totalitarian regimes in the modern European history and projects relating to other key moments and reference points in recent European history.

A special historical moment which will be marked in 2015 is the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, which had a dramatic impact on modern European history. World War II was the most destructive war in history and the number of casualties was enormous. More than 50 million people have died, including 6 million victims of the Holocaust, 27 million soldiers and 19 million civilians. European continent, as well as other parts of the world remained ruined.

The priorities within this chapter will be given to projects that marked the Second World War and its consequences on the post-war reconstruction of Europe.

  • Chapter 2 - Democratic engagement and civic participation
Project proposals supported through this chapter will support the debate of European future. Citizens are invited to participate in discussions through projects or through active involvement in organizations that participate in the EFC Program.

The debate should not be limited to citizens of points that support the idea of the European Union, but should come to those who have not been involved yet, i.e., to those who are totally against the Union or call into question its achievements.

Participation in the debate on the European future through the EFC can contribute to the development of the common identity of the EU citizens, especially when it comes to the younger generations, who also gives a look into the future but is also based on history.
